outboard mechanic needed. Honda

Bought a new to me boat with a honda 40hp outboard. Having all sorts of problems with it backfiring and stalling. pulled apart the carborator and did a few things but the problem came back after about 15 minutes running. Not sure who is a reputable mechanic in the sac area. Any help would be appreciated.
