    I grew up on the puget sound and although I have never tried poppers, I have experienced this type of fishing for silvers. Some of the best fishing I have done out in the puget sound. The schools of silvers would run in shallow water close to shore and the kelp beds and you could see them feeding on the surface. We would watch there path and position the boat to intercept them. Cast a small baitfish pattern on a floating line right in front of them and hook up every time if we didnt scare the school with the boat. Will have to do that with a popper when I get a chance.
