Putah
Flows are starting to ramp up but still some time to fish. I was out from 9-12 today. A few notes:
- Very crowded. Always remember good river manners. Clean up after yourself.
- Small olive and tan perdigon nymphs are fishing real well. Sparser the better.
- I hooked 4-5 decent size fish today including one real pig that was 24”+. Only landed one of them, nice 16”er plus a couple smaller guys 7-10”.
- Be better than the next guy. The big fish I hooked came out of a run that someone else was standing in all morning. It wasn’t in the most likely holding water to the untrained eye, but it was clear to me there was a fish in that hole. After I lost that big one on my 3rd drift, I hooked two more in there. The hole I was fishing was the size of a small car at most.
