How to reduce the numbers of Pikeminnows on the Eel River?

    1) fishing derbies

    2) netting during the low water of summer

    3) limited spear fishing contests.

    Bill,

Washington, Oregon and Idaho have a pike minnow bounty program administered by the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission, of which California is a member. Anglers can make $5 to $8 a fish depending on the number they catch.

I only glanced at their website, but I did not see a $$ limit on what a person could make so it might be a good source of income for a retired person. The top angler in 2018 made $71,000.

    Here's the website: www.pikeminnow.org

What an awesome idea. I would love to see that done down here. Geeze, up on the Eel, you could use the Pikeminnow that were caught and have a weekly no charge fish fry for all of the homeless up there.
