    Default Hi

    Hi All,
New member to the forum here. I fish Western Long Island Sound in NY area. Just returning to the fly world after a few years off. Looking forward to sharing as soon as the water gets a bit warmer.

    Ron,
Welcome aboard; the Forum is about to undergo a change.
Hope it is fairly seamless. We do have shad and stripers
on the left coast and that, in itself, is an interesting story.
    No blues.
    Best,

I just approved you and noticed your location.

Glad to have you with us other fly flingers.

We are always exited to hear about fishing the East Coast salt water.

I have a friend who has a summer home West of New York up the Delaware River.

Welcome to the forum, Ron! I grew up in Norwalk, CT and learned to fly fish on the Silvermine, Norwalk, Saugatuck and Housatonic, as well as the Sound. I remember having a ball with snapper blues on a five weight when I could sneak onto the right docks. That was back when there were tons of bluefish, few stripers, and no one had ever heard of a false albacore. We even found a stream that had a run of sea run browns, and I doubt more than ten of us knew about it (late ‘70’s). I will keep my mouth shut in the off chance it still exists. Been in CA since the mid 80’s after college.

Would love to hear updates on how you find things back there now. Which state are you in?
