    Default Lake Amador

I had to get out so I tried Lake Amador. I caught four, including a tiger trout and one bass. Had to work the lake by traveling some distances. Many years ago it wasn’t too hard to catch fish. They used to plant almost 200,000 lbs of Donaldson trout. Now because of water purity requirements the lake plants 50,000 lbs of trout including Tiger trout. Click image for larger version.

I first started fly fishing at Lake Amador around 20 years ago... that place used to be a blast and full of float tubes. The very few times I've gone lately... hardly anyone and ehhhh fishing. Thanks for the report.
