That was in 1990, the year after I got my BS degree from Humboldt State University and the summer before I would take a job with the National Park Service in Utah. It came to be known as 'REDWOOD SUMMER'

Nine years later, while I was working as a naturalist on a 12,000 acre wildlife reserve in southern California, I learned that my time with EARTH FIRST! and the Rainforest Action Network was not in vain because the very land we sought to protect was in fact mandated to be set aside as a federal and state reserve, protected in perpetuity from deforestation and destruction.

What this guy is doing is absolutely fantastic. There is never any good reason to wipe out 2,000-4,000 year old trees. They simply cannot be replaced fast enough... Thanks to David Milarch, they CAN be replaced

I fished all of the coast of Belize for about 30 years and in reading about it's history it said the Europeans cut down and hauled off

almost all the beautiful old growth hard woods many years ago.

This was all the "Honduras" Mahogany and others I guess.

    Pretty sad.....
