I got to fish the Klamath for a few days this month. It is a great river with the potential to be even better in the future. We fished in the Happy Camp area for three days and then floated the Iron Gate section the last day. Seemed like there were a lot of half pounders which I expect is from the good rainfall year in 2016/17. My history on the Klamath does not go back far but there were not as many adults I have seen in the past which I expect is from the bad rainfall years prior to 2016/17. Seems like next year could be a good one for fall adults. Pray for rain.
Fall colors and morning overcast sky.
Good spot to get out.
Wade fishing.
Nice reflection on the dark water.
Blue Heron Riffle on the Iron Gate section. Quite a difference in the landscape.
A little half pounder.
An adult on the big bug.
Another nice adult.
Wide angle lens.
Irongate dam - apparently not long for this world. Should be interesting to see what happens.
