Thanks for all the replies. Appreciate it.

Funny how setting up a single handed rod is much simpler.
“5 wt rod?....here you go 5 wt Rio Gold.”

“Two hander?....ya we’re gonna need a 12 pack to discuss
all the options.” It kind of amusing.

Yes, but just wait! You will have an arsenal of 2 handers in no time. Trout, shad, steelhead, salmon, dredging, touch and go,etc. 2wts to 8wtsand how many lines one can have to go with

If only this were in jest... even after substantially thinning out the gear closet, I still find myself sorting through an embarrassing number of rods, reels, spools, lines, tips, leaders, etc etc etc.
...aaannd I still find myself tempted by deals on more rods and reels, and lines, and, and, and....
Thinking hard about building up a 2 or 3wt trout Spey right now in fact.

Do it Jason! The lite trout speys are one of my favorite to fish. We should meet up and you can try out my 2wt and 4wt, get Gary out as well and try his 3. Something to do in these blow out days.

I’d love to. That sounds way more fun than pulling Scotch Broom and building fences! Might be tough to pull Gary from his studies right now, but I’m sure he could use some time on the water too.

So I think I understand what you are both saying......I need to get a second job.
    LOL!

So a 2wt trout spey...where the heck would you use that rod? Somewhere like the MF Feather?
Do you nymph with it as well as swinging streamers?

I use my ACR to swing buggers and soft hackles on the LowerSac and for half pounders on the Klamath. Super fun!

Yes, MFFR, Yuba, American and Truckee. All swinging and stripping, soft hackles to sculpins. Super fun rod with half pounders, 18” is the biggest so far. Going to be interesting when that rare adult latches on, 2wt fun!!Click image for larger version.

I can imagine a large Truckee rainbow or brown is going to give you quite a battle
on that rod. Looks like a lot of fun.

Could be interesting, but then again a 2wt 2 hander is equivalent to a 4wt single hander with lots more leverage, low to the outside!
