    Default Pandion???

There's a guy up here in Idaho selling a new Pandion spey rod by TFO. It's a 6wt 12'9" four piece with the plastic still on the cork. I've never even heard of this model and research revealed that it was discontinued some time ago. I would welcome any opinions on this particular model. All I could find on this forum were hints that it would be a good SURF rod but not why.

    Thanks!

Since I don't see any other responses:

I have never cast these -- sadly -- but if I recall correctly, the Pandion was designed as an 2-hand overhead surf casting rod. Stiff butt, fast recovery. Depending on your skill level and line system, you may or may not be able to get good mileage in a spey application. Just a guess.

Thanks Troutless! I heard somewhere about the surf application being its real strength. Coincidentally we are headed to the South Texas Gulf Coast in 6 weeks for the winter. Might be of some use down there I guess. Thanks again..
