    Default High Eastern Sierra's

A little post about a recent trip I took.

Backpacked into some high elevation lakes in the "EASTERN SIERRA" that ranged from 10,500- 11,500. It was a trip I was looking forward to all year. Something a little different than the normal stuff. The journey was a bear as I had to go over a 12k+ pass but well worth it. I did get a bout of AMS (altitude sickness) which knocked me on my rear for a little. Never had it before, but not fun. The fishing was incredible and the solitude of the hike was just what I needed.

All sorts of Goldens and hybrid versions.

I got to bring out the 3wt Reddington Butterstick with 6-7x which was a blast. So much to explore and so little time.

Any sort of gnat, ant, beetle, & mosquito pattern about #18-22 worked well.

If you have the itch get out there. Hard to put into words how beautiful the landscape is.

Hope everyone's summer is going well.

I went on one of our shop group high country horse pack trips.

It was a really wonderful trip and perfect for beginners.

Thx guys. You just don't know as you get older if you will do it again so never put off that "trip" Its not super technical fishing. Those fish see very little all year and feeding window is limited. Its fun using light tippet and UL gear. Something that you don't get to do on the Truckee/EW/EC/WW.

Like Bill said pretty good for beginners and youth because they have the lungs.!

Bill, BTW I like the new shop. Same good staff. Better location and layout. I'm sure you guys will do well. The 50 corridor is now covered.
