Where to eat when fishing the American

I'm starting this thread because a lot of my buddies that visit and fish with me always ask me "where is a good inexpensive place to eat" after a day on the American River? This is an important question, because any day that I fish the American I'm always starving. I've listed several favorites below. Beware these are neighborhood, fast service, cheap eats, hole in the wall places. NOT fine dining! If you want to hook up with someone or impress them, these are not the places to go.

In Rancho Cordova, right near highway 50, I make a B-line for Halal Fried Chicken: http://www.halalfriedchickenrestaurant.com/
I heard of this place on Capital Public Radio. Halal is a way of preparing meat according to muslim law. It's equivalent to Kosher food, so to us gentiles/infidels, it's essentially organic food. I'm not muslim, and was baptized Christian, and I don't care about organic vs. non organic food, but I like good quality "cheap eats". So given a choice between Halal fast food and most local fast food, I choose Halal or Kosher. Try it and you'll find that regardless of whether you are eating steak or hot dogs, the meat tastes better.

Halal fried chicken has awesome spicy fried chicken, and gigantic burgers and garlic fries with real garlic. On par with Burgers and Brew...without the Brew of course. Their fried chicken is on par with the spicy fried chicken I have had in N'awlins, just less greasy.
