    Shad and stripers at Verona

It being mid-April, the Shad must have arrived at Verona (which is at the confluence of the Feather and Sacramento Rivers, near Woodland, California). Yes, the Shad were there, driven by the urge to spawn (aren't we all?). Despite less than good water clarity, I released 31 by 2:30 as well as several nice stripers. Beautiful day on the river(s).

Shad sometimes are referred to as "poor man's tarpon" because they resemble the Silver King and they jump.

I paid $10 to park and launch at Verona, so I guess there's something to that.
