Unwritten old rules for Shad on American:

Weekday mornings are for local retired dudes

Weekday evenings are for local working stiffs

Weekends are for out of towners

*Not really rules but kind of what happens

**I always fished weekday evenings after work.

Great rules Bill! Earle Sloane and I did ok this evening on a short float. Fished this am and there was nothing in the spot I did good at yesterday. The flow changes have them moving!

Fished with a friend yesterday from 5p to 8p and both hit double digits. We both caught a couple really good size ones as well. The hook ups were spotty w/ one 3 in a row session but they kept showing up. Good times, happy to see them back! Can't believe how soupy the water is on the A already. Watch your step out there, sure is slippery!

Double digits of shad to the boat on a 6 hr float with Earle. We got the majority of them in the last 1.5 hours. Bonus was a couple of halfpounders and seeing a bald eagle working!

Did a little recon with Andy in his jet Lowe this morning. We found some shad and tested different lines to see what worked. The plus was we also landed a dozen or so shad.

Went back out this evening and did well (double digits). Lots of boats and anglers everywhere!

Another great day of fishing. Got into double digits again. Lots of anglers out early and only a few in the late afternoon. Must have been all those retirees Bill.

Got out after the thunder storms moved our. Another epic day getting into double digits. Hooked one too deep and took it home to eat. Steamed it Chinese style and worked through the fine bones. It was very tasty but a lot of work!

    Hey Jeff,

Didn't know they were good eating....always heard they are hella boney.

I think it was Luckee on this forum that would take the eggs from a hen, and
    fry it with bacon.

    Hardcore.

EDawg, It was very tasty but too much work. I had the roe fried in bacon grease for breakfast. I don’t think I’ll bring another one home but I had to try it after catching thousands of them.

The fishing slowed down today and the run that I’ve been fishing for the past few days was jammed packed. It was pretty good when I first showed up but I really went dead. Still ended up will double digits!
