Default Shad Counts on the Columbia River - 2018

Nearing 6 million over Bonneville so far in 2018. Doesn't include what migrated up the Willamette River.

Most everyone focused on fishing for Springers so the Shad go unnoticed. Same for Walleye and Small Mouth Bass.

I was told that the fisheries folks predict a huge run of salmon on the Rogue River this summer/fall.

Sure sounds good that a non native species like Shad are doing well on the Collumbia. I know that the native Sturgeon are eating well on the Shad heading down river
