Everyone here should be calling their representatives and senators to voice your concern about this. Regardless of whether you think we need to hold back more water or not, this proposal sets a dangerous precedent about the interpretation of the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act, as well as Dodges laws about who should foot the bill for this type of work.
Long story short, if this is allowed to happen, you can bet that it will set a precedence for the future that we as anglers and conservationists won't like. I already called all my senators and reps, but I'm going to have to call them again it sounds like.
Feinstein's attitude is particularly troubling, she's basically saying "do it, as long as Westlands pays their fare share".
Too say nothing of the safety issues......
If the dam failed more people would drowned?
Net result would mean more water for Southern California and farmers.
