Default Fishing rods prohibited out of Cabo San Lucas

Just returned from a quick trip to La Paz yesterday, I brought a 4 piece rod in a cordura covered case. Coming through security in Cabo, officer said I would have to check the rod as it is prohibited. He ended up showing me a picture of all the prohibited items which included a fishing rod. I ended up checking it and picked it up in LAX. Talking to airline the agents who helped me, they said the rules change regarding rods from time to time. North winter winds only allowed one day of flyfishing. Tauro, snapper, bonita, small dorado fun!

I had to check my Reels at a transfer from Sac. through Guadalajara a couple of years ago. They didn't care about the rods. Funny how things change.
