The article says the county approved an application for re-zoning to develop a 5000 square foot grow on the north bank of the Mad River where the company making the proposal is currently conducting a gravel mining operation. Seems to me both operations present issues for fish/humans but....
Maybe this is nothing more than illegal pot growers opposing legal competition....(???)

When I went to HSU back in 86-89 that little section of river produced a lot of nice steelhead. Reading up on " volatile solvents to produce various cannabis products" is basically butane used in a closed loop process to produce hash. Meh, let them build it. Butane has to be better than rodenticide.
