Default The Fly Shop in Redding, California was burglarized.......again.

They were very recently broken into and lost a lot of reels and other things.

A long time ago, maybe 20 years? they lost almost all their fly reels.

The bad guys drove to Sacramento and tried to sell them all to our shop.

We told them to come back at 3:00 pm and we would have cash for them.

We had the Sacramento Country Sheriffs Department waiting for them.

    Bill,
Last month, the FlyStop shop in San Diego had a break-in.
Be on the look out on sites like ebay and craigs list.
    Glad you nailed those guys!

I would also check out the flea markets and maybe even garage sales. I know they won't be selling in the area where they were stolen. Damn skumbags

I talked with Eric at the Fly Shop this morning and he said they had video of these two guys from several days prior being in the shop screening the place and actually taking pictures of merchandise. This to me means they may have already had clients waiting for specific rods and reels that were taken. Secondly was the stores estimate of cost of goods taken. Eight rods and numerous reels totaling " $14,000 ". WOW! Eight rods over a $1000.00 each, and some high end reels would be hard to make $14 K. ???

Probably depends on what "numerous" equates to in this instance.

I was told the reels were primarily Hatch. At an average of $500, it would only take 16 to get to $8,000. Pretty easy to throw in a backpack.

I hope they nail these guys.
