Default Old Timey Fish Picture From Putah

My aunt sent me a picture of my grandfather with a fish he caught from Putah Creek in 1967 or 1968. She believes the photo was taken in what is now the Lake Solano County Park area. I wonder if the dirt road is Sackett Lane?

I have found memories of the man even though he left me very early in my life.. Trips in the cabover camper looking out the forward bunk window to Berryessa were numerous.

Looks like a chinook to me...

    You shoulda been here yesterday!

"Construction of Monticello Dam began in 1953, completed in 1958, and the reservoir filled by 1963, creating what at the time was the second-largest reservoir in California after Shasta Lake."

Looks like a King Salmon all right.

In high water years I hear salmon and steelhead still come up Putah Creek to the dam on Lake Solano.
