    We know so little about this species on the west coast.

    Yes, it is not a commercial fishery so no money or interest in the American Shad.

    Almost all fisheries, no all fisheries, are declining. There are not enough of us to prevent continued decline. Fish don't vote and have no lobbiest. I have hope the current administration will reverse this trend.
