Default Want to join me after work at Gristmill for Half-pounders?

I will be at the Gristmill access this evening 9/8/17 at 5:00 pm if any one want to fish with me.

It is on the south side of the river upstream from Watt Ave.

I can help anyone who wants to give Half-pounder Steelhead a try.

You need any fly fishing outfit with a floating line, 9' 3x leader and some size #12 nymphs/wet flies.

You need a fishing license and Steelhead punch card.

Have a hat and glasses, preferably some Polarized glasses.

You don't need waders but I would bring them if you have them.

I like a light long sleeve shirt because it will get cool......

Flow is still a little high for my liking but it is OK.

3,500 cfs now.......I like 2,000 cfs but oh well......good for the fish.

    Text me with any questions.....

It might be $5.00 to drive into the parkway.

Most access have a credit card payment system.

I think the salmon in the ocean has been slow this summer.

Inside the Tomales Bay are anchovies so the halibut is OK inside and outside.

Catching an occasional Striper on the beach and in Tomales Bay.

Also an occasional White Sea-bass too.

    Albacore just started.

Lawson's Landing has a pretty accurate fishing report daily ongoing:

Had a good time with my grandson Hunter tonight.

Taught him the basics of swinging for Half-pounder Steelhead.

    He is casting well..........

We heard the flow might be going down Oct 1?

It is so nice out on the river now.

I like to get out very early, 6am for a few hours or in the evening from 5pm till dark.

Wet wading in the evening right now on the Lower American River is really nice.

You can use any light outfit with a floating line, long leader to 3x and a #12 wet fly or nymph.

5:00 pm till 7:00 pm is a nice time.
