Default Tucker Duck & Rubber Company float tube

We started out with these canvas covered 20" truck inner tubes.

We worn Seal Dri pure latex seamless stocking foot chest waders with swim fins.

There is an old one hanging in the shop that was donated by John Sullivan, a good old friend and former Deputy Director of Fish and Game.

We were fishing the Callebaetis may fly emergence down in Lake Solano (Putah Creek) around 1970.

My high school buddy George Farrell showed up one day just as the hatch started.

He got in his float tube and was kicking out to us.

He had a large #12 Adams dry fly with a pretty heavy tippet.

I had him cast it to me and I added 2 feet of Gladding Gladel 6x tippet material and a #16 Red Quill dry fly which was what we were actually using.

Lake Solano on Putah Creek was very popular with bay area anglers even driving over there for a quick fix.

Hal Janssen and Mike Monroe both really enjoyed fishing there from s round float tube.

Boy, you really sit low in those donuts. You really need chest high waders
for the old tubes. Cool pics Bill!

    Hi Eric

Those canvas skins took a 7.00 x 20" old rubber truck inner tube which would not work for anyone much over 200#.

After that Creative Sports came out with a larger round float tube that took a bigger truck inner tube.

It became the standard size truck tube which we sold separately but I don't remember the size?
