Larry was a locally famous west coast fly fisher.

He mentored many of us with his extreme knowledge of the wonderful sport of fly fishing.

He was a hero to many of us less skilled anglers.

Larry had a wonderful life right up to his recent stroke which hit him pretty hard.

I was lucky to be able to go Tarpon fishing in Mexico with Larry a few years back.

Many of us in the fishing world with miss him and think of him often.

We will think of the good old days when were will will mention him in our past adventures.

You can see Larry speaking of the good old days of coastal fly fishing for salmon and steelhead in the great movie, Rivers of a Lost Coast.

Larry fished with a group of top local Nor Cal fly fishers back in the day.

In the 1970s Al Perryman, Cal Guin, Jim Potter, Al Fong, Forrest Oldham and Larry Cullens were top fly fishers chasing mostly big fish like Steelhead, salmon and Stripers from small prams.

They were Baby Boomers who fished the north coast streams for salmon and steelhead with many of the Greatest Generation.

I was lucky to be able to fish around them because of one of my mentors, Al Perryman.
