    Default Crowley Lake

Last weekend my friend and I had the pleasure of fishing Crowley Lake with Ernie Gulley. It was my first time fishing Crowley and I was amazed at the numbers of trout that come out of that Lake. Crowley is not the easiest lake to fish, however, Ernie has it dialed in. We landed mostly Rainbows with a good mix of Browns and a few Cutthroats. We even landed two Sacramento Perch.

The first day we were run off the lake by a large thunderstorm with pretty big waves. I was certainly happy to be in Ernie's 22' Ranger boat!

Both days we landed totals in the mid forties with a couple mid twenty Browns. I must say that I have never fished with a harder working guide than Ernie Gulley. He always had two extra rods rigged up so when it was time to change flies there was not a second missed in fishing.

If you are heading to Crowley, I would highly recommend Ernie. You can reach him at erniegulleyflyfishing@aol.com.

Ernie Gulley is "one of the top guides" on Crowley Lake and takes you in a cutting edge 22 foot Ranger boat.

I have been informed that there are many good fly fishing guides on Crowley Lake besides Ernie Gulley.

We are way up north in Sacramento so I was not aware anyone else was guiding there.

I believe the lake Chironomidae fishing with an indicator started years ago in British Columbia.

Mickey Baron of Lake Crowley Guide Service is top-notch.
He knows the lake as well as anyone there. A straight shooter!
