That is the next place I plan on fishing for paiutes, but I wasn't aware of the timeline. I was under the impression that it was longer than that and that DFW and USF&W were still monitoring the creek and the reintroduction would come later. What's your source for this info? I really hope that it is the case, that would be fantastic!

I had the rare opportunity to catch Paiutes in the Silver King Creek drainage many years ago. When the creek was being rotenoned and barriers added to make it suitable for reintroduction, I went on a TU work trip coordinated by the late Leo Cronin. We were supposed to be electrofishing to remove fish for transport to some of the lakes. Unfortunately (fortunately for me), the water in the highest reaches of the tributaries were so pure that electrofishing didn't work. We were ordered by Fish and Game personnel to catch them on flies...

Must have been late 1980's...see link https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/152762932/

Spectacular report...I felt like I was there, without the sweat equity.

    Thank You, Bob

Very nice! I'd love to be ordered by DFW to do that. I would really like to be a part of the crew that has to catch a population of Paiutes for restocking Silver King Creek, when the time comes for that, but I guess you have to know the right people to be involved in that. It looks like you did back in the day, much to your benefit. Thanks for sharing!
