Default So what's the way to tote your tackle these days?

I have a hip pack that bugs me (mountainsmith lumbar pack)
I have a super cool old style satchel (looks like a fabric creel) that I always wear to the creek and put down or hang on a branch.
Oh, I also just stuff pockets when I don't use the other above items.
Pretty minimalist when I fish FWIW
    What say you?

Whatever's comfortable. I always wore an old Orvis vest for many years till I took a spill in Box Canyon and scared myself. Now it's an inflatable vest PFD and a waist/fanny pack below that.

Depends on your wiring. I'm in the minimalist category. Pockets and a Rising Shot Pack works for me. I know others who feel bare without the full vest. I do like some of the sling packs - room for a couple of beers and some jerky and a power bar.

I used to be a waist pack guy. Umpqua 500 ledges, specifically. Now I've bought a waterproof backpack as I find myself getting the waist pack contents wet too often. I'll still use the waist pack on smaller outings where wading deep isn't expected. For minimalists, there are several nice chest pack options.
