Adventure with Doug

Aloha, my portland friend Doug Howard visited for a couple of days. We ran into some willing mahi at a buoy out side of Hilo.

Doug got into the action. We picked up some small skippies and ahi at another buoy.

Lots of fish tacos

That afternoon Doug went out and shot a nice pig. Good shot got both lungs.

Next day we went out with another friend and got Doug on his dream fish a big ahi.

Bloody Decks, nice 150lber in the boat. Took about 20 minutes.

Doug had a hard time lifting it.

It was smiles all around and lots of steaks. I took Doug to the airport and then went out for a day of bonefishing. I had hooked a big bone earlier in the week with Doug, but the bone broke me off.

Well I got em, that is a 10lb bone on a 6wt TFO BVK rod with 12lb fluro tippet.

I was pretty stoked, even had my lucky Leinenkugel's hat on, I am the King! Hope you guys have a good summer, Mems.

WOW!!! What a great 3 days adventure. That Tuna is a brute!! Winding it up with a 10 pound Bonefish was icing on the cake. Great times!!!
