    Default Rancho Seco

Since I don't have a watercraft of any kind, I was wondering how easy or difficult it is to get to trout from the shore/old wooden piers or the new ones at near the day use area

    Default Ranch Seco....

If you read the Rancho Seco thread under the warmwater forum, there's a mention of rental boats available at Rancho. Otherwise, shoreline access is good around most of the lake. Also, there's a trail and several piers spaced around the shoreline. If Trout is your target, I've only seen them caught in the cove on the east end and around the dam. I don't fish trout down there so others are a better source for info.

Plenty of people get the trout from shore. They are almost always within easy casting distance. As are bass, crappei, and bluegills.

I just got an 8 pound + trout last Saturday.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
