    Default Fishable flows?

Thanks for the hard news Jeff. I had visions of spending a couple of hours enjoying my two hander with one or two folks around me. Poof...dream gone.

I think I'll just stay here where it is nice and cool. That will at least save space for 3 or 4 gear guys who only need about 6 feet on each side to be happy.........Thanks again...Anne

It's only been crowded in the evenings Anne. Like Andy said you can find solitude mid-day in the middle of the week and there are other places to fish also!

12 this evening. Left early because it really slowed down. Reggie from the Bay Area did well mid day. Many anglers up river. Phil White was getting into them in the middle of the river with clients!

Tomorrow, Wednesday the high in Sacramento is 92........that is pretty nice.

Flow on Lower American River is about 4,000 cfs which is pretty nice.

Only one for me this evening. Aron got there a little earlier and got 10 total. All bank and wading anglers did not fare well. Didn't see one hook up except for Aron's two while I was there for 3 hours. Boats in the middle were catching them including Andy!

We saw you show up to the run, Jeff. Myself and JasonB were in that blue Raft anchored up in the middle. We didn't get into any real numbers of shad until below sunrise.

Thanks for the 411 Gary. Aron was at the top and we noticed you guys were casting two handed rods. Most guys from boats use single handed rods but I use my two handers for both swinging and indo nymphing when floating.

Fished another area I don't always fish. Andy was in his boat in a bucket. Met up with a Earle and his daughter Sierra and Earle showed how to fish one of his spots. They both out fished me but it was great to learn how to fish another part of the river!

Don't let my low catch rate lately discourage anyone. There are shad through out the whole river. A boat helps but waders in the know can still score. Local knowledge helps!
