It would make someone a nice reel for a two handed fly rod..........it is maybe the largest of all Medalists.

I have eight of them. I have two of these, and use one to balance a larger bamboo rod. I think they hold about 2000 yards of backing . I love these reels. These are classics and just so simple and so American when we used to build things that were bombproof.
