Took advantage of the weather window and the fishable flows on the SF Eel last Friday. Drove up Thurs eve and stayed in Garberville. Fished primarily in the Benbow area. The river was in great shape, a little high, but the color was fantastic. Below the East Fork, it got a little more stained. But above that it was emerald green and beautiful. Tons of people out, to be expected. Driftboats and bankies. Even a few fly guys.

Only fish for me was a 24" chromer. But I'll take it! Talked to a nice guy fishing roe, and he said he caught 4 on the previous day up around Leggett. So there are fish to be had still, probably mostly in the upper river. My fish was a definitely a freshie.

Rained all night Friday. Drove home Sat morning and the river was blown again. So, time it right and you might get into a fish or two.
