    Default Two Day Oregon Float

I did a two day float on a small Oregon river last week. It was a bit of an exploration. We knew that some kayakers had floated it but we did not know anyone who had floated it to fish. Access is limited and part of the float goes through a wilderness area with some spectacular old growth trees. We found a good camp site which is not easy in the thick rainforest growth. We had to haul the raft over one log jam and line it around one nasty rapid. Quite an adventure but unfortunately not a lot of fish in the river at the time.

Beautiful pictures, John! I'd love to be able to do a trip like that sometime! Even without any fish, it would be an awesome adventure.

What a great trip and great photos. The efforts and often discomforts involved in such trips is well worth the experience and the resultant photos and stories. Nice to know places like this still exist. Thank you.

George - All the way from Sweden? Wow. I am glad you got a look at one of our coastal rivers. My grandmother emigrated from Sweden around 1905.
