Jay loved to wade lakes for trout.

Eagle Lake and Davis Lake in California were two of his favorites.

Met him at Kienes open house a couple years ago. We talked about the unique colors of his materials, and how much success they had brought me.
    Quite the gentleman.

Sure not the way I wanted to end this year. Jay Fair was the absolute master of Eagle Lake, he made
the lake come alive for me.

Never ever will forget his lessons, but I will never be able to match his way.
I guess its all in the touch!

    With sad regrets,

Sorry to hear about Jay's passing. I met Jay many years ago at the San Mateo Fly Fishing show or I should call it the ISE show. He had just brought out his products and was very generous in giving me a bunch to sample, I mean a bunch. Then he would always send me stuff in the mail. I also had Jay do some dyeing for me. He had hackles hanging from everywhere. His clothes lines were loaded with drying hackles. He use to call most of his friends "youngn's". I hope his son Glenn continues running the business.
    RIP

    Jay
