Cool!
Curious, how are you getting the bead heads on the shank? Bending everything out ?
Thanks
Nice bugs Jeff! Blue thrust, almost sounds like a porn star name I like em' I'll take a handful of Miss February. John I would say he is probably using a hook as the shank and then cutting off at the bend afterwards. Great ties!
Thank you guy's. John if you go to Olympic Peninsula Skagit Tactics web site and click on videos. Jerry French shows how he ties with the shank and bead combo." Great web site"! Mark , i used OPST shank and hooks.
Nice work,
I'll share some shank technique that has been serving me for a long time. Years ago I wandered into a fly shop who had a huge table / bin filled with Clearance stuff. Among all that were boxes of 100 each Mustad 36717 streamer hooks in size 2. One dollar a box so how could I resist?
Way too large for my normal feather wings but I took 200 just because I could. maybe 25 years later in Alaska........
I use those old streamer hooks for shank fly tying. I can slide a bead on those if I wanted and you can still find such hooks dirt cheap on the auction site
Thank you Ard, I enjoyed reading some of you're topics on Spey pages. Nice tie by the way. I will keep my eye out for some deals on hooks for intruder shanks! Have a great Holidays! ☃❄️
