    Default Salmon/Snails....

Good to see that somebody's trying to help Eel Salmon/watershed. Amazing what a good rainfall will deliver up there.

curious about how the invasive snails (host to parasites) come in contact with Salmon. Also, happy to hear that increased flows have at least partially eliminated them.

All of this info makes me want to get back up there for same Salmon fishin' in those lower pools. Hmmm,.... Wonder if my pram is still seaworthy???

My friend Al Perryman said October 15 was a good average timing for the beginning of the Fall King salmon tide water fisheries on the shorter coastal rivers.

About 30 years ago Craig Ziegler and I headed north to fish from here up the coast to Seaside, Oregon.

In mid-September we stopped and fished over schools of King salmon just below the Singley Bridge but we could not get them to eat anything.

After two mornings we left and headed north.

After the big drought of the late 1970s the CA DF&W made some low flow closures rules to protect the fish from abuse by anglers.
