Default Carson River near Dayton, NV

Looks like I might be spending a few days in Dayton, Nevada on my way to Redding. Just wondering if there is any good fishing in the area other then Pyramid? Looks like the Carson River runs along there but not sure if that's to far down stream to be any good.

I used to know a kid who lived in Dayton who fished the river with bait. He caught mostly bass, but every now and then he'd get a trout. I'd imagine with conditions in recent years, it would only have gotten worse.
If you're up that way, I'd recommend blowing through Dayton as quickly as possible, and hit either the East Fork of the Carson up around Markleeville, the Truckee River, or Pyramid Lake.
Maybe someone else could give you more advice based on current conditions.
    Good luck.

Thanks Patrick. That pretty much reinforces what I was thinking. Probably just skip fishing there and go give the casino some of my money. This stop is so the wife can visit an old friend for a few days so me and the dog will be on our own.

    Thanks!
