Default 2004 Yamaha 60/40 Outboard Jet Tiller $2,000 Firm

    Hello,

Here's the story. I purchased this motor new from Sutter Marine 2004. Have owned and maintained the motor ever since. Last June I performed a water rescue on the Lower Sac and capsized my 1652. Progressive said the boat was a total loss. I purchased the boat and motor back from Progressive. They also compensated me a check to purchase a new Yamaha 60/40.

The motor lost it's cowling, tiller arm, starter and has a minor bend on the fly wheel. We immediately disassembled carbs and plugs. We impregnated the entire engine with oil until it seeped without any signs of water. We manually spun fly wheel to regurgitate oil throughout the system. I found used parts in Michigan and purchased a used tiller arm($450), cowling($150), replaced the starter spring and reshaped the fly wheel. The lower unit is solid. Bearing and water pump replacement 3 years ago.

We ran her this last weekend on the Lower Sac and she performed well. She ran rough in the beginning but started hitting her sweet spot more consistently throughout the day. She ran beautifully on Monday. Take a trip to Redding prior to Oct 7th to test the motor on the Lower Sac. I've enclosed a picture of the motor on the hull from this last weekend. She's priced to sell.

Extremely firm on the selling price.
