You'll be surprised where you can get cell and 4G coverage nowadays. For years I couldn't get any cell coverage at my favorite area in the Sierras. If there was an emergency you had to drive to the highway and drive until you got reception. This past July I was up there and had 4G coverage as far back in the valley you could go.

I think they are getting cell reception at the mouth of the Klamath River now too.

On a pack trip at 11,000 feet we had a person break an ankle so the packer road up to a peak and turned on their cell phone and called in a helicopter.
