This will be a great event to kick off the Fall steelhead season.

Beginner sessions are almost full.....

See you this Saturday on the Lower American River for the Spey event.

* Change of original location of Watt Avenue, American River Access, to the Gristmill Recreation Area

* Flow changes from 5000 cfs to 2000 cfs

* Water temperature, low 60’s, suggestion is to wear waders/boots, ambient daily temperature high for the day, about 90 degrees, 70’s early on at 7 AM, dress accordingly based upon Clinic Class Time

* Suggested items to bring, polarized sunglasses/hat, sunblock

* Winston, Redington, Sage, and CF Burkheimer rods available for trial casting

* Juice and fruit in the AM, sandwiches for late morning patrons, non alcoholic drinks available all day

* Join Kerry Burkheimer, one of the best 2 handed rod manufacturers in the United states. Single handed, switch and spey rods will be available. Meet and greet one of the Premier rod builders!

*Clinics from 7 AM to 12 noon, full, 5 spots left at the last Clinic time frame, 1 PM - 1:50 PM

* Andy will have all rods rigged/ready for loading by the end of business Friday. Bill and I will be at the shop with Kerry in tow at 5:30 AM Saturday morning to load his trailer, and drive to Gristmill by 6 AM to begin set up. Terry Thomas will arrive to assist at about 6:30 AM. Bill and I will assemble all needed items like pop ups, tables, rod rack, etc, Friday, ready to load in the morning

Our Spey event will be tomorrow morning, Saturday, at the Gristmill Recreation Access on the south side of the Lower American River, off of Folsom Blvd and above/upstream of Watt Avenue.

Event is from 7am till 1pm and open to the public.

Still a few teaching spots left at 12 noon.
