    Default Lake Davis Still Water Outings 2016

    Hey folks,

    Rob Anderson and I will be once again offering our Lake Davis Still Water Outings being held June 10th-12th, and the 17th-19th.

    The outings will be a 2 and a half day event that will cover advanced still water techniques, proper rigging, shoreline wading, as well as float tube, pontoon boat, and small pram techniques. There will be plenty of free time to practice and catch some of those big beautiful rainbows at Lake Davis. More than a clinic, these outings provide a great social atmosphere where you’ll meet other fly anglers who share the same enthusiasm as you do when it comes to fly fishing. Gourmet backcountry dinners and lunches are also included. Space is limited to 12 anglers per clinic, and at this time there are a few spots available for each outing.

    The price for the Lake Davis Still Water Outings is $325 per angler. For more information, and to sign up, click the link here;

    We look forward to having you, and sharing the knowledge of still water fly fishing. - Jon.

    Hey folks, this years outings are going to be outstanding once again. Along with teaching anglers how to fish Davis during the Damsel hatch and the evening Hex hatch, we are also going to be focusing on how to read water. Davis is going to be one of many reservoirs in the Sierras that expands and gets larger due to last year's drought and this year's run off. We will be showing anglers how to look for areas that have concentrations of food In early season and how the lake rising effects the fish and the fishing.

    Jon and I are looking forward to our 4th year of our Davis outings and look forward to sharing our knowledge of the lake with our old friends and new.

    Or also click on Jon's site as well. Get in touch with either of us to join in. we have 3 spots available for June 10th and 5 for June 17th.

    This would be a great outing where you will have a good chance to catch something and learn something too.

    Hey folks,

    Jon Baiocchi wrecked em yesterday at Davis. Two beginner anglers and 7 fish to the net including a couple over 4 pounds. Lots of grabs as well. Davis is waking up. Lots of takedowns on the Albino Wino which is an awesome Blood Midge pattern anywhere.

    Can't wait till June and chasing some big Rainbows with Damselflies and Hex's. We still have a few spots available

    There are fewer fish in the lake than years past, but they are very large, with big shoulders. Lake Davis is an awesome fly fishing experience, and a must do.

    I am getting the smoker ready to melt down some pork shoulders for some Pulled Pork Sandwiches for lunch at the outings.

    If you'd like to really learn the lake in an enjoyable, relaxed, setting this is hard to beat. Prime time for the infamous damsel hatch...sight fishing to waking TOADS....chasing your fly....it's awfully hard to beat.
    Sonny, the black lab, ran ahead to make sure there were no gophers or jackrabbits in the way. If you don't give a dog a specific job, he'll improvise one for himself and it will invariably be fun. There's a lesson there.
