    Default Putah creek.

Thinking about going to putah this weekend. Never fished it before just curious if anyone had any fly recommendations or what sections I should focus on? Any tips would be greatly appreciated thanks!

The flows are a bit low at the moment and the clarity is okay. I was out there last Friday and didn't do to well.
All the access spots are good and you can hit them all in a full day. Putah Creek is an easy place to get out there and explore.

Be sure to decontaminate your gear afterwards. Guess it is futile because those dang snails are spreading everywhere, thanks to some very thoughtless characters.

    Yes,
And the most thoughtless and effective transfer characters have wings......as in Herons and other shore birds.

it's the industrial strength version of 409 that worked and was suggested for snails. not the regular household version.

EDIT: This has some useful information.

    Fishing is good at Putah!

Waders in the freezer overnight (at least four hours) and it's good-nite snails.

Check out www.rrflyfishing.blogspot.com for a quick report... cheers!
