I'm pretty sure a Clouser Minnow would catch about everything.

Atta boy Corky. Bring on those Bluegills! Enjoy.
    Cheers, Ken

PS: Don't forget you may need to dip the extended abdomen into Softex (or a similar product) to keep it from fouling (sometimes an issue once the fish begin to chew on the fly).
Love the challenge...What try? No try. Just do!

Thanks Ken, I got your book the other day. It's fantastic, it's the best looking fly tying book I own. The pictures are amazing.

    P.S. I ordered softex yesterday!

A simple marabou damsel nymph has always been a great warmwater fly for me. Really effective sight fisher in clear water for bass, carp and bluegill.

I may have to tie up some of those mini hoppers.

As far as what I use on bluegill, just beetles really. The Leetle Beetle by Fly Fish Food is a good one that I had success with last year

I love Fly Fish Food, their "Moodah Poodah" is a great bluegill fly.
