I am headed to the Keys in May and need help. I am looking for any advice on inshore fishing, flats/lagoon. I would appreciate guide suggestions as well as info on walk in flats or boat rental for DIY. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

May is the top month for the big migration of adult Tarpon along the Florida Keys.
That said, it is really hard to get a top veteran skiff guide.
One of those top guides or a tackle shop might be able to direct you to one of their proteges.

Most use 9' #10 - 12 weight rods.
Large high quality reels with a good drag and 300 yards of 30# Dacron backing.
Floating lines on shallow flats.
Clear slow sinking full lines in water deeper that 8 to 10 feet?
*If you go with a guide I would just use their equipment.
**Lots of good videos on the Internet about fly fishing for Tarpon.
