NZ South Island guide recommendations

We are going to NZ September 17-29. This is just before the main season opens unfortunately, but some of the rivers in the Nelson region are open all year. Also sea run trout on the Fiordlands region are open.

We are fairly accomplished and have plenty of gear so I'm looking to hire a guide for 1-1.5 days to get the lay of the land and then go at it myself thereafter. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for a guide who would be a willing teacher?
