    Default Trinity Report

I and a fishing buddy fished the Trinity River on Wednesday with Lonnie Boles from The Fly Shop. Overall an excellent trip with Lonnie being a great guide who is very knowledgeable about the river and just enjoyable to be around. The river is very low and clear but there are fish around, I would think with these storms it is only going to improve over the next few weeks. We floated lower section near Del Loma and were rewarded three adult hook ups , one to net, one half pounder and a couple other missed hits.

Sounds like a fun trip! Were you bobber fishing or swinging?

Bobber, my preference would have been on the swinging but it wasn't in the cards.

A friend and i fished the trinity today with greg kennedy from the fly shop. We floated steiner flat to Evans bar. Water had some color and there was light rain off and on. First fish of the day was a tagged fish. I ended the day with 6 hookups and 4 to hand. My buddy had 4 hookups and 2 to hand. A mix of hatchery and wild. Best part was we had the river to ourselves.

    Josh,

Greg is a great guide, I have fished that section with both of the Kennedy's, probably my favorite section of the Trinity. Sounds like the fish have finally moved up river.

I recommend that you swing flies for Steelhead in Sept/Oct/Nov.
