Default Ideas again brewing over the Folsom Dam and possibilities of a fish ladder

I know it has been discussed ad infintum and I am well aware of the infeasibilities...

BUT! when there is a will, there is a way and I am glad someone is taking the initiative to exert his will in a direction toward sustainable salmon runs...

Passage is gonna happen for the winter run over Shasta soon- via trucking though.

If that works out, maybe more reason to expand?

Was any thought given to this in the design of the new "wing" of the dam that's currently under construction? It's hard to see it from the road but ironically it looks a little like a giant fish ladder from what I could see.

I would love to see some scientific data regarding the probability of the successful transit of steelhead through the lake to support the expense of said fish ladder....

They are retrofitting dams up in Oregon to allow fish passage. Action prompted by lawsuits.

Would be epic! I'm sure the salmon population would go up. Cooler water would definitely help.
