Left to right: brown creeper; mountain chickadee; grey flycatcher; scrub jay; either a fox sparrow or a song sparrow (hard to tell them apart)

Haven't gotten any good bird pix lately but here's a cute little guy that we've been seeing more of lately. We've seen several in the delta and one here on the Feather a few weeks ago.

Nice capture, Tony. That looks like a mink. But mink aren't endemic to the west coast south of the Canadian border, are they? Quick little buggers what ever it is.

I don't know about being endemic but I've seen several in the delta off cross-over slough, swimming across the entrance to Orwood Marina, one along the rocks on the San Joaquin, and this one along the bank of Flase River. This one stayed with us as we drifted and worked the wall for stripers and didn't seem overly scared with our presence.

A few weeks back we spotted one moving along the bank fast on the Feather. We watched him for about 50 yards before disappearing.

That distinctive reddish brown coat really stands out.

Welcome back Prodigal Son. No wonder you haven't been around - if all those photos are from 2015 you've been busy.
