    Default Chasing rainbows

Took a little break from chasing stripers and fished the Lower Sac with a buddy last week. We went out with Shane K out of TFS in Redding. A nice change of pace. Got to wade some moving water and fished out of a driftboat. It was nice to chuck a lighter rod for a change. I felt a little rusty on my trout game but somehow managed. I'm not used to mending the line after chasing stripers the majority of the year
We floated with Shane two seasons ago and we were at the tail end of the egg drop but we still managed to catch a few fish.
We figured we'll hit it right this year but we were too early. Not too many salmon in the system yet but it didn't seem to matter. Shane's got a pretty good beat on these fish and we caught fish on small nymphs fairly consistently

    Fun times.

Whoa you caught something other than a Striper?? What is this world coming to?

Thanks for lighting fire with a great report for me I have date with that river on the 24th. One of my all time favorite places

Cast, mend, downstream sweep set repeat. How many strips sets were thrown in the mix up there?

Thanks all. Love that river. Still can't get over the size and thickness of those fish. In hindsight, it was good that the egg hatch wasn't on yet as there was hardly anybody on the river. Might be a different story in the next coming weeks.
Gonna have to make a return trip out there soon.
