Default 30" Steelhead on the swing

Out early and hooked three adults and caught this pretty male. Well into the backing. Released to fight another day.

Just got off the phone with Rouge River local Al Perryman.

Al was fishing the last few days with Chuck Campana.

Chuck fished yesterday with Ron Hayashi.

    Fishing has been good.....

Al said this is a good time to go to the Middle Rogue for swinging flies.

Don't need a calendar to know it's steelhead season. Just look for Gordon's posts. Well done, Mr. L!

NO DOUBT... that was a biter and not a slider...

At first glance, I thought that was a Dick Nite spoon, hahaha.

No doubt, swinging rather than nymphing.... will tend to 'make your fish grow'

    NICE BUCK!

Now that one looks like it was a good time!

I was on the Klamath last week around HCamp and caught more adult fish than 1/2lb's. It was unusual for this time of year in my experience. It was very slow and we had to be on the move the entire time to find any fish.

Hoping to get up your way again soon!
